RACHEL & LEAH

Rachel was the daughter of Laban

Who lived in Haran and later moved to Canaan

She wasn’t able to have children for she was barren

She grew up in a sinful home full of lies and deceit

Childbirth was used as a weapon to compete

Against Leah her older sister

Rachel was jealous of her fertility

They were both married to the same man

She stole house idols from her dad and ran

In hopes that God will bless her womb

She took fertility drugs and did not trust God to heal her wounds

Through her jealousy

Unrealistic demands

Bitterness

Hurt and pain

She did not realize

Only God could help her see the sun through the rain

For the thought filled her mind, over and over again

Why Lord? Why?

The Loving God did not forget her he granted her a son, Joseph

He heard her cry

Gradually but surely the Lord worked his will in her

She had faith and it grew more and more

She learned to wait and trust in God and be spiritually fed

She gave birth to her second son Benjamin on her dying bed
